Close Enough To Touch – Lyrics
Romance · Intimacy · Vulnerability · Desire · Emotional Connection · Trust · Being Seen · Self-Acceptance
Verse 1
I catch your eyes in the mirror
You turn down the lights, make it dimmer
Just enough, so I can see
You can't seem to look away from me
Your smile means trouble
Leaning into my neck with your stubble
Undressing me with your eyes
I feel a trembling deep inside
Chorus
I’d drive all night just to wake up by your side
In your big loving arms and your heart just as wide
I love you I miss you I want you so much
I need you here close enough to touch
Verse 2
Running fingers through my hair
Never breaking our stare
Caressing kisses on my skin
Heart fluttering within
I've never seen myself be gone like this
Watching my body drown in your kiss
Eyes hazy, full of lust
quick breaths, cheeks flushed
Chorus
I’d drive all night just to wake up by your side
In your big loving arms and your heart just as wide
I love you I miss you I want you so much
I need you here close enough to touch
Bridge
You breathe sweet words in my ear
Tell me let go, to feel even freer
Eyes blazing, burning intensely
Then bringing me back to life gently
Final Chorus
I’d drive all night just to wake up by your side
In your big loving arms and your heart just as wide
I love you I miss you I want you so much
I need you here close enough to touch
I love you I miss you I want you so much
I need you here close enough to touch
Behind The Song: I Wonder
The idea behind the song came from the image of two people standing together in front of a mirror. Physically, they are incredibly close, but the mirror represents something much deeper. One person isn't simply looking at the other; they are encouraging them to look at themselves differently.
Sometimes we are our own harshest critics. We see imperfections, insecurities and all the things we wish we could change, while the person who loves us sees something completely different.
They see beauty where we see flaws. Strength where we feel vulnerable. They see the person underneath everything else.
That became the emotional centre of Close Enough To Touch
